I shall make it so that it would be necessary, that shall ye disregard thy quote "Barba non facit philosophum" as such of thy well groomed beards shall exponentiate thy wisdom required to be thy greatest philosopher of thee. O Plato.

Maybe I've just been living under a rock, but recently while looking through the news I came across the term "pro-extinction". This led me to a Wikipedia article for The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement (I'll link it in this post if you're curious). Reading the article and lightly researching the topic made me wonder if voluntary extinction would even be possible. As someone who's very interested in learning about antinatalism and parallel topics, I'm curious to see what you guys think. Would voluntary extinction be possible? What would the possible motives behind it be? etc.

Hello! I'm simply curious to see what your stories are when it comes to how you became interested in philosophy.
Personally, it started as a way to combat depression. At first I tried to turn to religion but ultimately found it too illogical. Then, I started looking into different philosophical beliefs and it totally took me by surprise at how interesting all of it was! I started getting into ethical questions about human culture and existence and that's really what cemented it for me. Now, I'm still a tad bit new to philosophy, but I'm definitely passionate about it :)
But what are your guys' stories? I'm interested to hear them

Is there a difference between these three forms of discourse? Or are they basically the same thing going by three different names?
I ask this question. What is the state of nature? And why what might it mean when people lament about going back to the “good old days”?
